Manual Esoterica

This project was focused on creating an encyclopedia of the different gods of Cthulhu mythos, a fictional universe created by HP Lovecraft. It’s a universe of magic and where the wrong sort of knowledge only brings madness. I wanted to create a spellbook-like aesthetic given the mystical subject matter. I created a set of pen and ink illustrations with a similar look to woodblock prints, and used a tight, justified block of text to imitate the layout of illuminated manuscripts.
